(Adopted) Betty slipped her collar while being walked by a Burien C.A.R.E.S. shelter volunteer. UBS volunteers immediately stepped up to help with the search. Dozens of posters were put up, and volunteers searched on foot and by car. She was finally spotted at Westcrest Park 4 weeks later, 4.5 miles away. A team of UBS volunteers went out in hopes to help capture her, many driving 45-60 minutes to get there. As volunteers were positioning themselves across the large park, Betty was spotted again in tall grass. A trap was set, and volunteers watched to to be sure she didn’t escape from the area. After dark, Betty went in the trap and was finally safe! She was transported back to Burien C.A.R.E.S. and later adopted.
