Animal Control, Shelters, and Vets

UBS is not shelter and does not have a central physical location. If you find a stray dog, you are encouraged to take the dog to the appropriate shelter or call Animal Control (AC). You will need to contact AC or the shelter which handles found pets for the location the dog was found.

*Note that city contractual agreements and shelter jurisdictions may change. We recommend you check with the city where you found the dog, if you have any questions.

24-Hour Vet Clinics

Most any veterinary clinic can quickly scan a found pet to see if they have a microchip with the owner’s contact information. If you find an injured stray and are able to safely transport, take the dog directly to the nearest vet for medical care. The veterinary office can arrange for the dog to be transferred to the shelter once the are stable, if the owner is not found beforehand. Local 24-hour emergency vets are listed below.
